Zombies To Invade Atlantic City In October

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (July 15, 2013) – It will be zombie fun for the whole family at the Atlantic City Zombie Walk presented by Haunted Tales and sponsored by Walking Dead Films LLC on the boardwalk on October 19, 2013 (rain date October 20.) From the success of the TV series “The Walking Dead” to Brad Pitt’s movie “World War Z,” zombies are hot! Now they’ll get a “taste” of Atlantic City on the boardwalk that USA Today called one of the top “Best Boardwalks.”

More than 2,000 zombies are expected to take part in the walk from Harry’s Oyster Bar & Seafood at Bally’s to Steel Pier. Registration starts at 2:00 PM at Harry’s and is $20 for adults and $10 for children and includes discounts at participating businesses. Yes, even zombies like a bargain! Zombie wristbands are good for discounts for two full days.

CEO Jason Koerner and Ed McKeever from Walking Dead Films will also have a grand prize for the best zombie make up. The prize is roll playing a feature zombie in Walking Dead Films upcoming movie “Zombie Death Camp”. Also, the makeup team that does the best and most zombies in a timely fashion will win the opportunity for head makeup artist in WDF’s “Zombie Death Camp”. Mr. Koerner and Mr. McKeever also have WWE wrestling superstar “SNITKY” coming to the event to show his support.

Diane Mitchell, co-host of the “”Mike & Diane Morning Show” on South Jersey’s hit radio station 95.1 WAYV, will emcee and play Today’s Best Music to get the zombies revved up for the walk. Contests will include Best Zombie Baby, Best Zombie Twins, Best Zombie Bride & Groom, Best Zombie Tattoo and Best Zombie Celebrity.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Atlantic County, a no-kill animal shelter that provides a safe and caring environment. The HSAC’s mission includes curbing pet overpopulation through spay and neuter programs and increasing the number of animals adopted into loving homes.

“Zombie Queen” Charlotte Tatum said “September brings Miss America to Atlantic City and October brings the zombies! The Atlantic City Zombie Walk on the boardwalk will help raise money for a local no-kill animal shelter, while giving participating businesses a boost. We are excited to bring people back to Atlantic City after the busy season ends for a unique and fun event. ”
