Cannibal Holocaust (1980) - Coming Back To Theaters!

Grindhouse Releasing brings director Ruggero Deodato’s notorious horror classic CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST back to the big screen starting this weekend at Landmark Theatres across the United States.

CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST tells the story of four documentary filmmakers who experience brutal death at the hands of a savage South American tribe of flesh-eaters. The film is so intense, so graphic and so unflinching in its realism that the director and producer of CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST were arrested on its original release and the film was seized.

CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST has influenced many filmmakers, most recently providing the direct inspiration for director Eli Roth’s new horror film THE GREEN INFERNO. The film stars Robert Kerman, Francesca Ciardi and Carl Gabriel Yorke. Moviegoers are warned: This is the original, uncut version of CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST and its strong content may upset some viewers.

World War Z (2013) - The Ending We'll NEVER See

Movies.com brings us this, which you should NOT read if you haven't seen the film yet:

“Basically in the original ending, after the Israel sequence and the plane crash, Gerry is in Russia, and the storyline of what he finds out at the WHO lab is what he finds in Russia but he applies his theory in a battlefield setting. We called it “The Battle of Moscow,” and it’s a huge battle with zombies and multiple other characters and ultimately Gerry defeats them by realizing that the zombies avoid him and go around him [after injecting himself with a virus]. So it’s in Russia, at night, in a snowstorm with thousands of zombies and big battles; kind of the scope of the Israel sequence. Some of that footage is still in the film, you see it during the montage when Gerry journeys back to his family on that small boat, we see a few glimpses from that battle. We never finished that footage because we all agreed after Israel and the plane crash you’re battle fatigued and you really want the movie to be more quiet and you don’t want it to go into another huge combat situation.

“The problem with that battle sequence is you get lost because obviously you can’t just stay with Gerry, you have so much more going on. So you lose the connection with him. What the ending should really be about is solving that riddle [of how to combat the zombies] with him. And to make it a more quiet and suspenseful is a much more interesting approach than to do it in a big battle way. That’s how these discussions came about and why we ended up setting the ending in a World Health Organization lab. As in all of my movies, I’m always about the character, about these quiet moments. So I was really happy when everyone came around and agreed and supported that vision.“

“It was very important for me to first cast the actor who would play that zombie [that Gerry confronts in the lab]. His name is Michael Jenn. He’s a performer and had all these different skills, but the key thing with me was to make you feel with this zombie this mirror that this used to be a human. We hadn’t had that moment in the film, this loss of humanity. I put a wedding ring on his finger and he’s banging it very subtly against the glass door. So to give this man a history that he was married, he had a life at one point. There’s also the reflection in the mirror that’s very metaphorical. And then you have Gerry being isolated in this capsule but at the same time being observed by this zombie. There’s a tension created by having the zombie outside, him inside and then the people observing through the security cameras, and then, of course, what is Gerry going to inject himself with? And as one of the lab people says, “It doesn’t matter what he takes,” because we don’t even know if it’s going to work or not.

“That idea actually of the sick being avoided by the zombies was an idea that screenwriter Matthew Michael Carnahan came up with originally and I was a big fan of it, I thought it worked. And what’s great about that scene is it’s all done in silence. Gerry is on his own for the first time in the movie. He’s a reluctant hero in a sense, an every man, this is a moment when he becomes a hero because he puts his own life on the line to prove an idea he has and I think it’s almost sacrificing his life for the greater good. That sort of idea is the ultimate in heroism. But at the same time he’s not doing it over the top, because Brad knows how to play that and even how he plays it, his look as he stares up to the camera while he’s being observed and looking back at the zombie at the door, that whole triangle in that scene and all parties being in their own space, it was a lot of fun to shoot and direct.”

In the near future on the outskirts of civilization a remote test facility lays in ruin following a catastrophic security breach. All that remains is a handful of survivors, their small armory of weapons and a fleet of the infected. The breach led to a viral outbreak that left thousands dead or mutated. Amazon Studios, the original movie and series production arm of Amazon.com, announced it will add cult classic Zombieland to the line-up of pilots already in production for Prime Instant Video. Zombieland, which is the seventh comedy pilot added to Amazon’s pilot line-up, will be made available (along with the other six comedy pilots and six children’s pilots) for free on Amazon Instant Video and LOVEFiLM UK. Customers are invited to view the pilots and then review them on the site; customer feedback will help determine which of the 13 pilots Amazon Studios will make into full-season productions, to air on Prime Instant Video.

“Zombieland is a fan favorite and we can’t wait to see where this storyline goes in a serialized format,” said Roy Price, Director of Amazon Studios. “We’ve been announcing a lot of exciting exclusive content for Prime Instant Video, like Downton Abbey, Under the Dome, and Justified; and we think adding original shows to that lineup is going to make Prime even more enticing for customers.”

Zombieland is based on the hit Columbia Pictures movie of the same name and finds four survivors outwitting zombies and searching for a place to call home. The Zombieland pilot comes from the feature film’s original creative team, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, The Joe Schmo Show), and producer Gavin Polone (Gilmore Girls, Curb Your Enthusiasm). Eli Craig (Tucker and Dale vs. Evil) is directing the pilot.

The part of Tallahassee will be played by Kirk Ward (The Island), Maiara Walsh ("Desperate Housewives," "Switched at Birth") is cast as Wichita, Tyler Ross (Milkshake) will play Columbus, and Izabela Vidovic has the role of Little Rock.

“Zombieland will strive to break the rules—action, adventure, thrills, chills and laughs and all packed into a half hour format,” said creator Paul Wernick. “This is not your average show, but Amazon is not your average network.”

Amazon Studios, the original movie and series production arm of Amazon.com, has begun production on six comedy pilots, Alpha House, Browsers, Dark Minions, Onion News Empire, Supanatural and Those Who Can’t. Additionally, six children’s series are also currently in production, including Creative Galaxy, Oz Adventures, Teeny Tiny Dogs, Tumbleaf, Sara Solves It, and The Untitled J.J. Johnson Project.

At long last ‘Zombieland’ fans may get their wish for an ongoing TV series based on the movie, now that Amazon has begun shooting its pilot. New set photos from the ‘Zombieland’ shoot have made their way to the internet, none of which feature the primary cast of Columbus, Wichita, Little Rock and Tallahassee, unfortunately, but rather highlight gore every bit as good as ‘The Walking Dead.’ 

Amazon’s ‘Zombieland’ TV series picks up after the events of the 2009 Ruben Fleischer film, and features a cast comprised of Kirk Ward as Tallahassee, Maiara Walsh as Wichita, Tyler Ross as Columbus, and Izabela Vodovic as Little Rock. Original ‘Zombieland’ writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick wrote the pilot and will executive produce with the movie’s producer, Gavin Polone.

Casper Galloway'S future is one giant question mark. With only two weeks until college graduation, he still lives with his mother, is indecisive to a fault, and is one credit away from failing. But just when Casper thinks things couldn't get any worse, he and his friends accidentally unleash a curse that causes people to kill themselves and turn into Zombie Demons, aka Zemons. 

Armed with a slew of homemade weapons and a Winnebago, the team races through the night, killing Zemons and fighting time, frantically searching for a way to reverse the curse. But as the Zemon army starts to overpower the team, Casper finds himself with no choice but to face his fears and become the unlikeliest of heroes.
