Contracted (2013) - New Trailer

Contracted tells the cautionary tale of Samantha (Townsend), a twenty‐something party girl with little discipline and even less direction. After experiencing a lapse in her relationship with her lover (Stegeman), she's forced to move back in with her overbearing mother (Williams). Samantha's only means to escape seems to come in the form of a flower competition that she's determined to win. Things take a turn for the worse when Samantha spends the night with mysterious man (Barrett), leaving her hung‐over and guilt‐ridden. However, something else is wrong with Samantha. Something is infecting her. Unsure of the disease or the man who gave it to her, she must attempt to hide it from her loved ones. Now, Samantha realizes she is not just the victim of an STD, but rather the host of something much more catastrophic. Prepare to witness a zombie film like you've never even imagined.

Danny Boyle On The Chances Of Another "28 Days Later" Film

In an interview with Wired, Boyle said the following:
Wired: Are you surprised that a decade after you made 28 Days Later, zombies are still all the rage? It was such a revisionist take.
Danny Boyle: Who would have thought? I don’t like zombie movies. I never did. We took a genre and fucked with it. Zombie aficionados, they’re quite precious with all their rules. Like with running: “They don’t do that!” Of course there are so many manifestations of zombies now, the rule book has gone out the window. I saw one episode of The Walking Dead, and it was very gripping. But the zombies were stumbling around again, which I hate.
Wired: You produced that movie’s sequel, 28 Weeks Later, and there’s talk about you directing the next installment, which obviously has to be called 28 Months Later. Is that in the works?
Danny Boyle: Given what we’ve just been talking about, it’s very difficult to know whether zombies are overexposed now as a concept. So it’s 40/60 whether it happens or not.
But we did have an idea of where to set it and what it might be about.

"Plaguesville, USA" by Jim LaVigne (Kindle) - Free Until 11 November!

FREE for Kindle through Sunday is Jim LaVigne's romp through a post-apocalyptic world, Plaguesville, USA. Get your copy for the cost of just a few clicks here.
The year is 2075, and the vast majority of humanity is dead.
The global outbreak of a new strain of virus wiped out over 99% of the population. The lone hope rests on the slim, unready shoulders of Dr. Justin Kaes and a small team of specialists from the Center for Disease Control. The researchers have discovered a cure for the plague in the blood of a cantankerous 102 year old. But there’s one minor problem: the old man couldn’t care less whether humanity lives or dies. And he most certainly doesn’t feel like going on a road trip to sunny California.
On the way to the coast lie murderous tribes, cults, voracious animals, and the toxic remains of civilization. They face a world gone backwards, technology and industry reduced to rusting garbage. Their mission seems doomed… But there are a few decent souls still out there, citizens of Plaguesville, USA.
"Imagine FALLOUT mixed with DOOMSDAY and MAD MAX but with the violence, intrigue, and horror on overdrive; boil it down and you have the best apocalyptic novel ever."--Eloise J. Knapp, author of THE UNDEAD SITUATION
"LaVigne offers the reader an incredibly well-developed post-apocalyptic America that haunts the imagination well after the last page is turned."--Jessica Meigs, author of THE BECOMING

No Sequel For "28 Days Later"

Dread Central interviewed Alex Garland and asked him the following:
Dread Central: Since this is my last question and I'm such a huge fan of the original film and the sequel, I wanted to ask you whether or not there's any chance that fans will ever see the rumored about third 28 Weeks movie? I know there was talk about it some time ago, but then it just sort of disappeared.
Alex Garland: Thank you so much; I'm still so proud of 28 Days Later and how well it's been received over the years so I appreciate that. But in regards to another movie, no- there are no plans for a 28 Months Later or whatever they were calling it. This is a series I've always been heavily involved with between the original and the sequel so if there were plans for another movie, I would absolutely know about it.

Infected, a new horror/sci-fi action film that will be in theaters this Halloween, brings you the story of a father and son hunting trip and their fight for survival when a blood virus infects a small group of hunters. As they’ve been doing for years, the duo are first to arrive at the peaceful cottage that their hunting club rents each deer season, and as the other club members arrive, they begin the familiar, relaxing task of setting up the cabin. While deep in the woods, cut off from civilization, they spend a long weekend cleaning, rekindling old friendships, and hunting. Kelly, the cabin’s caretaker, arrives in a panic with news that her grandmother is ill. When the grandmother disappears in the woods, it is quickly apparent that she is not sick from just any ordinary virus. There are then reports of hysteria and brutality in rural wooded areas throughout New England. Where the violence is coming from is unknown and almost universally unprovoked. Normal men and women, young and old, have started to commit unimaginably horrific acts. As the infection begins to spread through the hunting club one by one, decisions have to be made, and old friends are left behind. You see that all creatures must either evolve to meet new threats and protect themselves from the predators at the door or face the possibility of extinction. Infected is produced by Chad A. Verdi, Noah Kraft, and Gino Pereira; written by Glenn Ciano and Rob Rotondo; and directed by Ciano. This is a world premiere you won’t want to miss!
Infected stars Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2, Donnie Brasco), William Forsythe (Inkubus, The Devil's Rejects), Christy Romano (Mirrors 2, Even Stevens) and Tom Denucci (Self Storage and Inkubus).
