Resident Evil: Revelations 2 (Game) - New Raid Mode DLC

Bloody Disgusting tells us:
Capcom has quietly released a multiplatform update for the episodic horror game Resident Evil Revelations 2, which finally brings online co-op to the Xbox One’s Raid mode. The update also added four costumes, so Gina can dress as Lady Hunk and Rachel, Pedro can become Mutant Pedro and Cipher can transform into what appears to be a magenta colored samurai teddy bear named Lottie.
Though, is it me, or does this look like Capcom may have borrowed from "Team Fortress 2", "Left 4 Dead" and "Dead Rising"?

Variety brings us the following news:

Constantin exec board chairman Martin Moszkowicz confirmed the news at a launch for another Constantin high-end TV series, “Shades of Guilt,” at Mipcom TV market in Cannes Sunday.
...
Other film brands to be adapted into TV series would include “Resident Evil,” which would become a TV series after the next feature film, and “Perfume.”

Resident Evil Coming To Halloween Horror Night

This fall, Universal Orlando Resort will transform reality into a surreal fight for survival as the critically acclaimed survival horror video game series “Resident Evil” becomes a haunted house at Halloween Horror Nights 23!

This completes this year’s lineup for Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights 23, which will feature some of the most outrageously terrifying, highly recognizable names in entertainment and pop culture. In addition to Resident Evil, the event will also include haunted houses based on AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” Mexican urban legend La Llorona and critically acclaimed horror films “Evil Dead,” “An American Werewolf in London” and “The Cabin in the Woods.” Universal Orlando is also dedicating its entire Halloween Horror Nights street experience to “The Walking Dead” – making this the first time ever that all of the scare zones throughout the park will be themed after a hit television series.

For “Resident Evil,” Universal’s Entertainment team collaborated with the video game creators at Capcom to create a horrifyingly authentic haunted house based on some of the popular video games from the Resident Evil series. Guests will become desperate survivors inside the viral catastrophe, Raccoon City. As they journey through the city, they’ll encounter vicious characters from the games such as Lickers, bloodthirsty zombies, packs of Cerberuses and even Nemesis himself. Fans will be completely transported inside the video game realm – to the extent that one room in the haunted house will appear as if an action-packed fight scene is paused, as if the gamer has taken a quick break before returning to the horror of Raccoon City.

The “Resident Evil” franchise is now firmly established as a mainstay of contemporary culture with blockbuster live action movies, CG anime, manga, novels and numerous merchandising lines being produced alongside the video game series. To date, the Resident Evil series of video games has achieved global sales of more than 57 million units.

For a detailed listing of each experience featured at this year’s event, see below.

Left 4 Dead/Resident Evil Crossover!

Capcom and Valve are pleased to announce the Resident Evil® 6 x Left 4 Dead™ 2 project. This crossover project between two of the interactive entertainment industry’s most respected publishers will see characters from Left 4 Dead 2 featured exclusively in the forthcoming PC version of Resident Evil 6, while enemies from Resident Evil 6 will invade the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2. All content will be made available completely free for fans of either game to access and play.
Owners of Resident Evil 6 PC will be able to select one of four survivors from Left 4 Dead 2’s iconic cast – Coach, Nick, Ellis and Rochelle – when playing the PC-exclusive mode The Mercenaries No Mercy. Each character will have a special customized weapon load-out created just for use in Resident Evil 6. In addition to the four survivors, two of the infamous Special Infected zombies from the Left 4 Dead franchise – the Witch and Mini Tank – will also make a cameo appearance in this mode, relentlessly attacking players regardless of whether a character from Left 4 Dead 2 or Resident Evil 6 is chosen. This new and exclusive content will automatically be downloaded in the background to all owners of the PC version of Resident Evil 6 from April 5.
Making the leap to the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2 will be some of Resident Evil 6’s most fearsome enemies – Lepotitsa, Napad and Ogroman. All three characters were brought to life in Left 4 Dead 2 by Valve’s renowned developers using its Steam Workshop tools. Owners of the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2 will be able to face a new deadly challenge when Resident Evil 6 characters infect Valve’s classic zombie title this spring.
Commenting on the crossover project, Chet Faliszek from Valve stated: “We’re huge Resident Evil fans so when the opportunity arose to work directly with Capcom to combine L4D2 and RE6, we jumped at it.”
Resident Evil 6 Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi added: “The Resident Evil 6 team really enjoyed working on this crossover, and we’re confident that our fans will have a great time with it too! We hope you enjoy this unique content.”

Paul W.S. Anderson Confirms Resident Evil 6

First Showing brings us the word:
Anderson plans to start shooting Resident Evil 6 this fall. The Mr X visual effects house, who was responsible for all the movie magic you saw in the most recent sequel along with the other sequels Apocalypse and Afterlife, not to mention Anderson's Three Musketeers will return to do VFX work on the new project. Though the film wasn't exactly a runaway hit, the film pulled in just over $221 million worldwide, and that's enough for a sequel. Anderson has said that he had plans for a new trilogy that began following Afterlife, so maybe this will be the last Resident Evil movie? We'll have to wait and see.

Resident Evil 6 (2014) - Sony Sets A Date

Dread Central tells us:
Well it was only a matter of time, right? Sony Screen Gems has set a release date of September 12th, 2014 for the tentatively titled Resident Evil 6. No official word yet on what role Paul W.S. Anderson will be taking but we expect him and Mila Jovovich to be back.
There are no details available at press time, plot or otherwise, but it's a safe bet to expect Mila to be looking hot in a skin tight outfit, while bullets fly and enemies fall. There will be some gigantic monsters and some zombies thrown in for good measure. There will be loud music, explosions and lots of slow motion Matrixy scenes. Characters who have died already once (or even twice) may be back again somehow or another. Fans will be scratching their heads wondering 'why' and 'when' this madness will stop. Fans will then complain about it incessantly and then head to the theatre in droves, thereby ensuring that there will be another. Oh, and it will be in IMAX 3D with DBOX and you'll be able to command a tiny Licker to hurl kernels of popcorn into your mouth while you watch the onscreen lunacy slack-jawed. Sound about right?

Resident Evil 6 (Game) - Demo Is Now Available On PSN and XBL

From the press release:
Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners will be able to download the new Resident Evil 6 demo from Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Store. Experience first-hand why it is one of this year’s most hotly anticipated titles with content from the game’s three main campaigns that can be played either solo or partnering up via online co-op.
Play as either Leon S. Kennedy or Helena Harper and further explore the dark corridors and moonlit grounds of Ivy University, swarming with the victims of the latest bioterrorist attack.
The action in Jake’s mission switches to the neon-lit streets of Lanshiang as he and Sherry Berkin fight off the new J’avo enemies, including their fully mutated forms. Jake’s special hand-to- hand combat moves and Sherry’s stun baton are pivotal in their struggle to stay alive.
Showcasing the global setting in Resident Evil 6, Chris Redfield and Piers Nivans head with fellow BSAA team members to the war-ravaged streets of Edonia. The amassed J’avo forces provide a stiff enough challenge, but that’s before the three-story high B.O.W. Ogroman crashes the party. Select Piers for a slightly different weapons loadout than Chris including a sniper rifle with thermal scope.
Resident Evil 6 will release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 across Europe and North America on October 2. A PC version will follow soon.

Resident Evil: Retribution (2012) - Dread Central Talks With Michelle Rodriguez

For the full interview, visit Dread Central.
Dread Central: We've seen you play badasses over the years, and very well I might add, but there was something a bit different about what you did with Rain in Retribution- was it kind of liberating to get to take on a bunch of dudes like that and just destroy them?
Michelle Rodriguez: Well, I can't take all the credit- some of that goes to 'Las Plagas' (strain of infection featured in the Resident Evil game series storylines) of course. It is a pretty amazing genetic mutation and I had a lot of fun during those scenes with the guys- yes (laughs).
Dread Central: Because your character is a bit more complicated this time around, was that part of the appeal for you to return to the Resident Evil series?
Michelle Rodriguez: All that and the fact that for part of the movie I was almost like an Olympic athlete on the most extreme steroids you could ever imagine. You don't get offered roles like that a lot, especially as a woman, so I just thought when I first read the script, "How fun! This could be really cool" and saw it as a chance to have more fun than I normally get to have.
And I totally loved that other side of my character too- the Rain that drives a Prius, wears high heels, hates the NRA and doesn't know how to defend herself- was so something not up my normal alley but I still had fun playing, but in a completely different way. And yeah, I don't think I've ever played anyone so innocent before.
I have to say though that everyone only calls me to play these tough chicks so maybe it's time to switch things up. In fact, that's it; I'm doing a rom-com now (laughs). I'm going to show you all a totally different Michelle now after 13 years (laughs).
Dread Central: Do you feel like a lot of that is because you have a stronger personality; one that seems like you can take a lot of crap but give it out as well?
Michelle Rodriguez: For sure, of course. It's all boiling down in there. In fact, a lot of times I have to keep it tamed down. You wouldn't want to see what would happen if I didn't (laughs).

Resident Evil 6 (Game) - Post Launch Content

Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, is pleased to confirm that the Resident Evil 6 experience will be further enhanced with the release of new modes and additional content following the launch of this highly anticipated title on home consoles this October 2.
Available as downloadable content, three new gameplay modes will expand on the multiplayer elements available in the retail version and deliver new and exciting ways to enjoy the world of Resident Evil 6.
Survivors Mode takes the classic solo- and team-based versus mode and adds a twist. Get killed and you respawn as an enemy character with the ability to attack the human characters. Take down two human characters to resurrect in human form. Last man or team standing wins.
In Predator Mode, one player takes on the role of the Ustanak, the fearsome B.O.W. that stalks Jake Muller throughout his campaign, and tries to eliminate the human players. The humans’ task: stop the deadly B.O.W. in its tracks, or at least survive until the end of the session.
Choosing the human side in Siege Mode will see players protecting a single NPC, while as a member of the enemy team, players will need to eliminate that same NPC. If the NPC is still alive at the end of the time period, the human team wins.
Survivors, Predator and Siege modes will all support up to six players online and be played using maps from Mercenaries Mode.
Players will be able to track their accomplishments in these three modes alongside their main campaign statistics and compare their performance with others by registering on ResidentEvil.Net, the free online service that launches alongside Resident Evil 6.
Further post-launch downloadable content for Resident Evil 6 will include additional maps for Mercenaries, which can in turn then be used as maps for Survivors, Predator and Siege modes, plus other items yet to be announced.
